SAN LUIS OBISPO, California – October 19, 2005 – FzioMed, Inc. announced today the expansion of its senior management team with the appointment of Ronald J. Ehmsen, ScD as Vice President of Clinical Affairs.
Dr. Ehmsen will be responsible for overall planning and direction of the company’s clinical research activities and for ensuring the effective execution of all domestic and international clinical programs. “FzioMed has an impressive pipeline of new products and I am excited to join the talented team of professionals here,” Ron said today.
Ron has more than twenty-five years of executive experience in research and development and clinical and regulatory affairs in the medical device industry. Ron most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Inamed Corporation. His experience includes senior positions in leading medical device corporations, including Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs for Tyco Mallinckrodt; Corporate Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Circon Corporation; President of Optimed Technologies; and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Clinical Programs for American Hospital Supply Corporation. Ron holds a Doctor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master’s degree from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s degree from New York University.
