ProprietaryOur proprietary combination of two safe and extensively studied synthetic polymers—carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and polyethylene oxide (PEO)—results in a unique mode of action and combination of benefits.
Our synthetic polymer gels contain no pharmaceutical agents and no materials of human, animal, or bacterial origin. Clinical study data and more than two decades of clinical experience treating over 1 million patients have demonstrated the safety and biocompatibility of our products.
The CMC in our gel allows for adherence to tissues and/or neural elements in a variety of anatomical locations and clinical environments. Our products are designed to stay in place, protecting the surgical site throughout the body’s natural healing process.
The PEO in our gel provides a unique protective function that disrupts the deposition of fibrin-building proteins and inflammatory cytokines. As proteins come in contact with PEO, they dissipate, preventing fibrin bridge (adhesion) formation, limiting the effects of inflammatory cytokines and reducing painful inflammation during the healing process.
Our proprietary dual-polymer technology is tailored to meet the needs of specific clinical applications with distinct viscosity, elasticity, and absorption characteristics.
Fziomed products are provided sterile and ready to use – no mixing required – and conveniently stored at room temperature.
